The federal government has raised the price of petrol and high-speed diesel, effective Sept. 12, for another three-day period.
Petrol’s price has been raised by Rs5.02 per litre to Rs375.82 per litre from Rs370.80 per litre, said the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division in a press release on September 11
The cost of high speed diesel has also jumped Rs5.28 per litre from Rs398.04 to Rs403.32.
The new prices will take effect on 12th September 2026 and stay valid till 14th September 2026.
The Petroleum Division stated that the adjustment is in accordance with the Federal Government’s petroleum pricing regime. It said it made the latest revision due to changes in global Platts rates, premiums and other incidental costs.
Both major petroleum products have breached their price levels with the latest hike, with petrol now priced at Rs375 per litre, and diesel at Rs403 per litre.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Energy Petroleum Division is the source of these statistics.
