Meta announced the launch of a new global subscription service, Meta One, which bundles paid features for its Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI brands.
It comes with over 50 features and has different plans for individual users, creators and businesses. Individual subscriptions begin at $2.99/month for entry to pick products of Meta; the maximum creator/business plan is $499/month. More than 15 million subscriptions and trials have already come from testing over the past few months, Meta said.
The basic experience on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI will continue to be available for free, Meta said. The subscriptions, instead, cater to those looking for more AI features and professional tools.
Meta One is composed of four plans known as Fundamental, Advanced, Expert and Max for creators and companies. The professional packages start at $14.99 a month.
The $49.99 Advanced plan comes with a number of social media tools for those that use it for work. Subscribers can include clickable links in organic Instagram and Facebook posts and Reels, schedule content up to a month in advance, export analytics, and enjoy more comprehensive audience and competitor data.
The plan also enables team members to log into accounts without having to share their password. Higher-priced tiers offer additional features such as business broadcasts, human support and more shared account seats.
Meta is also rolling out increased access to its AI-powered customer service tool, the Business Agent, which is provided by WhatsApp. The company states that as the subscription rate increases, so will businesses’ access to the system.
There’s also a new AI assistant for analysing Instagram insights and producing content concepts, which will be further expanded with Edits Plus for additional cloud storage.
Meta frames the service as a substitute for a handful of various instruments for social media scheduling, analytics, hyperlink administration, and buyer help and AI help.
But the paid-for Meta One does not necessarily equip posts to reach a wider audience organically. Meta notes that some professional plans offer discoverability tools but the subscription doesn’t guarantee anything regarding publish content to more people.
The company added that Meta One won’t be an ad-free or ad-light environment. Instead, subscriptions are meant to be an avenue to generate revenue alongside Meta’s advertising business.
